Who we are and why we built this

Built inside a venture studio

TraceReady is a portfolio company of Pioneer Square Labs, a Seattle venture studio that conceives, builds, and launches new companies. Since 2015, PSL has spun out over 30 companies across supply chain, food and agriculture, consumer compliance, and B2B SaaS. TraceReady was incubated in early 2026 as a direct response to the FSMA 204 compliance gap we watched open up in the months before and after the January 2026 deadline.

Who's on the team

The founding team combines food-safety, supply-chain, and compliance-software backgrounds. That matters because FSMA 204 compliance is not a pure software problem or a pure consulting problem — it's an operational problem with a software layer. The people running working sessions with your QA team have previously owned traceability programs at food manufacturers and distributors, have responded to FDA Form 483 observations, and have sat on the retailer side during supplier scorecard reviews. The technical side ships the middleware and reports. The program side runs the weekly cadence, supplier outreach, and audit-defense artifacts.

Why we didn't build another platform

The FSMA 204 software market in 2026 is crowded with platforms — ReposiTrak, FoodLogiQ/Trustwell, TraceGains, rfxcel, SAP, Oracle, and a long tail of category-specific tools. What we heard from regional grocers and specialty processors in diligence was not "we need another platform." It was "we already bought one and we're still not compliant, and nobody's helping us close the gap." That gap — between platform ownership and operational compliance — is what TraceReady is built to close. We work alongside the tools you already own, not against them.
